Street Orienteering in Central Footscray

Orienteering is a sport, which combines outdoor adventure with map reading and navigational skills.
Participants will need to navigate the streets with a specially produced map to locate checkpoints (controls) on various natural and man-made features along the way, represented by distinctive orange and white flags or metal plates.
Orienteering is a sport for everyone.
4 courses around central Footscray will be offered: A). 7km B). 5km C). 3km And walkers 1 hour.
Scatter format: 20 controls on the map, and you are required to get a certain number of them, in any order, to achieve the distance for that course.
Walkers do a score event: i.e. 1 hour, get as many controls in that time without being back late.
There will be a mass start at 7.00 pm, please arrive at 6.45pm to register.
What Orienteers need: - Comfortable jogging or walking shoes - Plastic Bag to protect map in wet weather

Cleaning organisations are constantly looking for well trained staff for commercial cleaning contracts in offices, schools, shopping centres etc. They want candidates to have the basic skills in hard and soft floor maintenance, OHS, wet area and glass cleaning. Our course will cover units from the Nationally Accredited Asset Maintenance Training Package provide the foundation skills for cleaning. Class Duration is from 18th Nov 2009 - 27th Nov 2009 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Practical component (completed in shopping centre) will be conducted 2nd and 3rd December 2009.
