Pursuant to section 189 of the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act), Maribyrnong City Council (Council) gives notice of its intention to sell 8 Empire Street, Footscray (Property). The Property is contained in volume 4687 and folio 367 as shown hatched in the plan below.
The intended method of sale of the Property is by public process (or if a purchaser is not secured through undertaking a public process, by private treaty) for a sale price at a value not less than the valuation obtained by Council. All revenue (excluding reasonable property sale costs) derived from the sale of the Property is to be utilised for the development of the Early Years site at 47 Church Street, West Footscray.
In accordance with section 223 of ‘the Act’, any person wishing to make a submission on the proposal must do so in writing to the Manager Governance and Customer Service within the submission period identified below.
How to Make a Written Submission
Persons making submissions may request to be heard in support of their submissions. Any request to be heard must be clearly stated within the written submission. Any person requesting to be heard is entitled to appear in person or by a person acting on their behalf before a meeting of Council or a committee appointed by Council. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of ‘the Act’. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell or not to sell the Property.
Submissions should be addressed to the Manager Governance and Customer Service, City of Maribyrnong, P.O. Box 58 Footscray 3011, or delivered to the Municipal Offices, Cnr of Hyde and Napier Street, Footscray or via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submissions received will be included within the official Council Agendas and Minutes, including personal information about the submitter’s identity and location. Agendas and Minutes are made available to the public and on Council's website. If you do not wish to be identified in Agendas and Minutes, please indicate this in your submission. Council is also required to maintain and make available for public inspection a register of submissions received during the previous 12 months in accordance with ‘the Act’.
