Award nominations normally open in October/November each year and close in December. In 2010 awards were offered in 4 categories.   2010 Award Categories Young Citizen of the Year (up to 25 years) Community Service - Individual Community Service - Group/Organisation Emerging Community Leaders – Individual/Group   Judging Panel and Awards Ceremony A judging panel, including the Mayor and community representatives, consider all nominations and determine the winners for each category. Awards are presented at the Civic Awards Ceremony held as part of Council’s Australia Day celebrations on Tuesday 26 January.
