Festival City Grants Program

Festival City Grants Program

Council’s Festival City Grants Program provides financial and in-kind support for festivals that promote our City as a ‘Festival City’.

Festivals enhance the livability of the City by celebrating our multiple cultural identities and develops the economic prosperity of our region. They bring tourists to the City of Maribyrnong and contribute to the cultural and civic richness of our municipality.

Council’s Festival City Policy 2014-2017 guides its Grant Program to attract and support the best of Melbourne’s festivals for the benefit of our residents, businesses and cultural tourists. The policy ensures that communities in all suburbs of the City of Maribyrnong have the opportunity to participate in our festivals.

Council will also seek to identify and respond to opportunities to establish, attract and strengthen festivals that profile the City of Maribyrnong across the full calendar year.
