Snapshot of 2015 survey results

  • Satisfaction with Council’s overall performance scored at 6.64, a level of satisfaction best categorised as ‘good’, an improvement on the 2014 categorisation of ‘solid’.
  • The five services with the lowest satisfaction scores in 2015 were ‘maintenance and cleaning of Footscray CBD’, ‘public toilets’, ‘parking enforcement’, ‘footpath maintenance and repairs’ and ‘traffic management’.
  • Satisfaction with ‘Council’s performance meeting its responsibilities towards the environment’ scored at 6.71, significantly higher than satisfaction with Council’s overall performance, and is at a level best categorised as ‘good’.
  • The most commonly identified issues in 2015 were ‘traffic management’ (18.5% up from 16.5%), ‘car parking’ (18.4% down from 22.1%), and ‘cleanliness of area’ (8.6% up from 4.4%) .
  • The perception of safety in the public areas of the City of Maribyrnong during the day increased marginally again in 2015 up from 8.29 to 8.58, and at night increased measurably to 6.78.
  • Satisfaction with ‘Council’s performance promoting gender respect and equity’ was rated at 7.57 up from 7.02, a level of satisfaction best categorised as ‘very good’.
  • The average satisfaction with the nine included aspects of customer service was 7.67, a level of satisfaction best categorised as ‘very good’.
