Councillor Code of Conduct
The Councillor Code of Conduct (the Code) seeks to:
- set standards of conduct expected of elected representatives.
- foster good working relationships to enable Councillors to work constructively in the best interest of the local community.
- mandates Councillor conduct designed to build public confidence in the integrity of local government.
In accordance with the Local Government Act 2020, every Councillor must declare in writing before Council's Chief Executive Officer, that they have read and will abide by the Code before they can act as a Councillor.
Should the Council determine throughout it's term that the Code requires amending, each Councillor must again declare in writing that they have read and will abide by the Code.
