Waste services for commercial properties
Eligible businesses, shops and rate paying commercial properties who receive an annual waste charge are entitled to:
- one 240 litre general waste (landfill) bin collected weekly, and
- one 240 litre recycling bin, collected fortnightly

Where commercial properties choose to engage a private waste collection service, private contractors must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety guidelines for waste and recycling collectors.
What can I put into my commercial waste bins?
To receive a commercial waste service, you must use the bins correctly and separate your waste and recycling into the appropriate bins.
Remember not to overfill your bins. The maximum weight for bins is 70kg, bins which exceed this weight, or which are overflowing will not be collected.

Penalties for contaminated bins
Council waste collection services are subject to Part 16 of Council's General Purposes Local Law and are provided under the following conditions:
Where the property owner fails to comply with the provisions of the General Purposes Local Law, bins will not be collected, and the owner may be subject to on the spot penalties of up to $1,000.
