Nominations for the 2020 Maribyrnong City Council Civic Awards are now closed.

The Maribyrnong City Council Civic Awards recognise those individuals, businesses and organisations that make significant contributions in our community that enrich the lives of others.

Award categories

Citizen of the Year Award

The Citizen of the Year Award recognises an inspirational role model who has made an outstanding contribution to the City of Maribyrnong in the field of community, health, education, environment, arts or sport.

Volunteer of the Year Award

The Volunteer of the Year Award recognises the outstanding achievements of an individual as a volunteer.

Youth Leadership Award

The Youth Leadership Award recognises the exceptional work of an individual who is under the age of 25 (as at 31 December 2019).

Community Strengthening Award

The Community Strengthening Award recognises the outstanding work of a not for profit organisation.

Active Maribyrnong Sporting Award

The Active Maribyrnong Sporting Award recognises a City of Maribyrnong based club, team or individual involved with, or contributing to community sport and recreation.

Arts Award

The Arts Award recognises an individual, community group or organisation for outstanding contribution to the arts in the City of Maribyrnong.

Enterprise Maribyrnong Award

The Enterprise Maribyrnong Award recognises the contribution that local business makes to the City of Maribyrnong.

There are three sub-categories for nominations:

  1. Contribution to Business Community Award.
  2. New and Emerging Business Award.
  3. Innovative Business Award.

Civic reception

Award winners and those that nominated them will be invited to attend a civic reception in early 2020 to be presented with their awards.
