International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world on March 8 to acknowledge the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women – while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality. 

What's happening in 2021?

The global UN Women theme for International Women’s Day 2021 is “Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” honouring the tremendous efforts by women and girls on the frontline of the COVID crisis.
