Deaf awareness training

Delivered by Deaf Children Australia, this session builds understanding and practical skills for working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. Topics include:

• What is Auslan
• Lipreading
• Deaf culture and identities
• Inclusive practices
• Workplace and client awareness
• Use of interpreters
• Communication strategies
• Language deprivation
• Deaf gain, and everyday experiences of hearing loss.

The session includes videos, simulations, and interactive activities.
