Calling all bike lovers for a day of family fun along the Maribyrnong
Published on 16 March 2018
Love cycling? Then come along to Maribyrnong’s Family Bike Day next Sunday 25 March! Hear all about our current cycling projects and tell us your ideas for the future of cycling in our city.
Held in Pipemakers Park along the Maribyrnong River bicycle track, the day will include fun activities for the family such as the opportunity to ‘spin you own smoothie’ and relax to music generated by a ‘sound bike’.
There will also be a number of guest speakers throughout the day talking all things cycling, including:
- Joyce Watts, Founder of Cyclestyle.com.au
- Harry Barber from Phillip Boyle Associates
- Kurt Rihs from Electric Bikes
- Jaison Hoernel from Good Cycles
- Tina McCarthy from Cycling Victoria
Representatives from the Westgate Tunnel project will also be on site with a virtual reality Velloway Bike for attendees to use, giving them a sense of what it will be like to travel along the proposed West Gate Tunnel velloway.
There’ll also be a bike course for kids, free sausage sizzle and smoothies, coffee and more.
Where: Pipemakers Park along the Maribyrnong River bicycle track
When: Sunday 25 March
