Come together this International Women’s Day as we collectively work towards a gender equal world

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world on 8 March and is a day to reflect on how far we have come and how far we still have to go to truly achieve gender equality. The year 2020 is a pivotal year for advancing gender equality worldwide, as the global community takes stock of progress made for women’s rights.

The theme of this year’s IWD is I am Generation Equality: Realising Women’s Rights, which draws attention to the fact that gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive, and that a gender equal world can be healthier, wealthier and more harmonious.

The multigenerational campaign marks the galvanising moment in the gender equality movement, the emerging global consensus is that despite some progress, today, not a single country can claim to have achieved gender equality.

2020 represents an opportunity to mobilise global action and progress conversations on how we continue to work together for a gender equal world.
