Get ready to walk, swing or stretch your way to better health
Published on 05 October 2017
With summer just around the corner, what better way to get in shape, socialise and explore local parks, reserves and open spaces than Active Maribyrnong’s Spring into Summer series.
Now in its fourth year, the series will offer a range of free health and wellbeing programs across the City of Maribyrnong when it returns in spring.
Taking place from 13 November to 17 December, the majority of programs will be delivered outdoors in local open spaces and are designed to showcase a range of the facilities and activities on offer across our city. With activities ranging from Yoga to AFL Active, there truly is something for everyone!
As an added bonus to encourage participants to keep active, all registered participants will receive a free 10 visit pass to both the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre and RecWest Footscray.
The full Spring into Summer series includes: Circuit Work It, Women’s Only Yoga, Tai Chi for Health, Gentle Aqua, Teen Fit, Yoga in the Park, Happy Healthy Life, Netball, Hatha Yoga, Guided Meditation, Parents and Bubs Kangatraining, Group Fitness in the Park, Deep Water Aqua, Swing Fit, Pre-School Yoga, AFL Active, CX Work, Disc Golf, Tai Chi Dance, Seniors Movement and Qigong.
The series is delivered through Council’s Active Maribyrnong initiative, designed to improve the health and wellbeing of our community through physical activity and community participation.
Since the beginning of the Active Maribyrnong program in 2014, over 10,000 community members have found their inner athlete by participating in our range of events.
Registration for the free Spring into Summer series is essential and places are limited, so start planning your wellbeing journey and join the long list of active participants who have adopted a healthier lifestyle.
Registrations open on Monday 9 October.
