Stony Creek Community Day
The Stony Creek Community Day was held in Cruickshank Park on Sunday 18 November 2018. Residents and passers by were able to enjoy a free coffee and sausage sizzle and ask questions of representatives from Council, the Environment Protection Authority and Melbourne Water as the agencies who continue to be involved in the recovery of Stony Creek and surrounds.
There was plenty on offer for the little ones too with face painting, a marquee full of children activities and a frog bog workshop. The most popular attraction with the kids however was the educational and fully interactive animal displays. The kids, some for the first time, were able to get a hands on experience in holding some of our largest pythons, learn about the nocturnal activities of a Barn Owl and nurse a real life blonde crocodile.
The day was well attended and provided an abundance of entertainment for the kids as well as information on the recovery of Stony Creek.
Below are some images of the day.
