Our registered nurses are qualified in the area of maternal and child health. They are more than happy to answer any questions you may have, or link you with local support networks.

Open Session provide 10 minute consultation outside the KAS appointments. The sessions are held on the following days:

Families can attend any centre for these visits. Families will be seen in order of arrival and, during busy sessions, it may not be possible to see everyone. If you require a Key Age and Stages visit or a longer appointment please call our central booking service on 9688 0501.

New Parent Group Information

The MCH Nurse will invite all new parents to attend a New Parents Group: Groups are held in your local area and are facilitated by qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurses. They provide:

  • a relaxed, informal and supportive environment to share experiences, gain information and discuss topics relating to parenting
  • an opportunity to meet other new parents and develop friendships

This is made up of five day sessions and three evening sessions of Baby Makes 3, where partners attend.

Infant CPR Sessions

Maribyrnong City Council MCH Service offer CPR sessions for parents of infants and young children.

Sessions are held at the Town Hall, Community Service Building, Cnr Hyde and Napier Sts, Footscray.

Starting Solid Foods

Learn how to introduce your baby to solid foods at our free information sessions. All your questions answered in a friendly and informative presentation facilitated by a Maternal & Child Health Nurse. Ideal for parents with babies 5 - 7 months.
