Hyde Street Kindergarten
The State Government announced funding to be allocated towards a new integrated early learning centre to be built adjoining the Footscray City Primary School as part of the Footscray Learning Precinct. The centre will help cater for the growing demand for early years and education services by providing local families with kindergarten and maternal and child health services in a co-located facility.
It is anticipated the timeline completion will be available soon. Families will be kept up to date with the progress of the proposed early learning centre via Council's website.
It is recommended that you choose four preferences when you register your child for three and/or four year old kindergarten, in case your first preference is unavailable. Don't forget if your circumstances have changed ie you are now eligible for a subsidy card please contact the CRS team on 9688 0116.
For any further information we recommend families contact the School Building Authority (VSBA) firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 1800 896 950.

Kindergarten, long day childcare and 3-year-old programs provide a strong foundation for your child's learning and development. They improve language and help children learn through play-based programs that foster your child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs, as well as helping your child to adapt to new people, situations and environments, and set them on a path of learning for life.
Step 1: What you need to know before registering
You can register your child for community managed long day childcare, 3-year-old programs and 4-year-old kindergarten through our Central Registration System (CRS).
Every child and family has different needs. Visit your preferred long day childcare centres and/or kindergartens and talk to staff before you register.
We recommend you select up to four different childcare and/or kindergarten services for the best opportunity to be offered a place.
You need to complete a separate registration for each child, but can register your child for multiple services as part of the same application.
Please note: children attending a 3-year old program will not automatically be offered a placement for four-year old kindergarten in the same service.
We do not manage registrations for private long day childcare and kindergarten services.
