Reusable Sanitary and Incontinence Products Feasibility Study

Reusable sanitary products.png

Did you know that around 660 million disposable nappies, sanitary and incontinence products end up in landfill in Australia each year?

We're part of seven Melbourne councils conducting a joint feasibility study to research and understand how to implement a reusable sanitary and incontinence aid program that reduces waste to landfill.

We invite you to share your experience with sanitary/incontinence products by taking part in this survey to help us understand:

  • The type of sanitary/incontinence products you currently use
  • Whether you know about other options for disposable sanitary/incontinence products
  • If you have used reusable sanitary/incontinence products. Or would like to know more about them.

We want to hear from everybody – whether you’ve only used disposable products, whether you opt for reusable products or even if you use a bit of both. Your input will support research a reusable sanitary and incontinence program that aims to reduce household waste that ends up in landfill.

With your help, we can gain valuable insights into how Council can better support residents to make environmentally-friendly choices.

The seven Councils include:

  • Hume City Council
  • Knox City Council
  • Maribyrnong City Council
  • Maroondah City Council
  • Stonnington City Council
  • Whitehorse City Council
  • Yarra Ranges Council
