COVID-19 Financial Hardship
COVID-19 Financial Hardship Policy
To support our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, Council has developed a COVID-19 Financial Hardship Policy (the Policy).
The Policy aims to provide support through the payment of rates to individuals and businesses who have been impacted financially.
All ratepayers, including individuals and businesses, who are experiencing financial hardship or lack of financial means, due to COVID-19 are eligible.
Council will only accept the Hardship Application being completed by the owners or the authorised managing agents for commercial and industrial properties and not by the tenant of the property.
Ratepayers can make application to Council to:
- Enter into an agreement with Council for rates to be paid by instalments; or
- Defer payment of rates until 31 March 2021.
Interest will be placed on hold until 30 March 2021 for both application options.
