Conspicuous Presence makes visible the work of five Australian women artists, all women of colour. Through the heightened material presence of their work, the artists’ deploy conspicuous methods of commanding our attention.

Artists include Georgia MacGuire (Indigenous Aust), Khi-Lee Thorpe (Indigenous Aust), Sofi Basseghi (Iran/Aust), Su Yang (China/Aust), Ema Shin (Japan/Aust).  Works include painting, sculpture, video and textiles.

Trocadero Gallery 2 will feature material from the archive of the Women’s Art Register. Curated by The Women's Art Register through the Trocadero Artspace Guest Curator Program, the exhibition will feature a public program including artist talks and an Art & Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon.

Exhibition Dates: 21 February to 10 March, Wednesday to Saturday 12-5pm

Launch event: Wednesday 21 February, 6-9pm

Alongside the Exhibition are two other events - an International Woman's Day Art & Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Wednesday 7 March, 6-9pm, and an Artists Talk event on Saturday 10 March, 1pm.
