Creative Pathways
Creative Pathways was a graffiti prevention program designed to support local young people to develop their creative skills and learn more about Melbourne’s street art scene. Over the seven weeks in 2015, eighteen participants attended workshops at Phoenix Youth Centre, led by respected local street artist TRASHORT and a number of other professional mentor artists.
Each workshop focused on a different style or medium, including stencil art, aerosol-based creations, comics, traditional graffiti and realism. This allowed each of the participants to discover their strengths and focus on developing their own techniques. The workshops culminated with the installation of a large street art mural at Chemist Warehouse in central Footscray, a location identified as graffiti-prone, where the participants collaborated with renowned street artists.
