New Year's Eve 2018


Footscray Park is the place to be for New Year's Eve 2018 with a fantastic line-up of stage entertainment, magnificent fireworks, carnival rides & games and a delicious offering of food trucks to ring in the new year.

The event runs 6.30-10.30pm, with fireworks at 9.30pm.

All the excitement without the late night!

This is an alcohol-free event.

This FREE event is for the whole family, but for their own safety, please leave your dog at home.

There is no parking on-site. We encourage patrons to catch public transport to central Footscray for an easy 10 minute walk to the event site.

Road Closures

Meyers Road and Cumberland Drive will be closed from 5.30pm-11pm.
Farnsworth Avenue and Fisher Parade will be closed from 8.30pm-11pm.

Stage Line-up

MC Rusty Berther


Best known as being one half of the ARIA award winning musical comedy duo The Scared Weird Little Guys, Rusty is an accomplished writer, musician and comedian, and has recently published a book about his mid-life crisis of going to Antarctica to run a marathon.

The Burrundi Drummers


Hailing from one of the smallest and densely populated countries of central Africa, this large group was initiated as a way of keeping immigrants from Burundi connected to their rich culture steeped in music while settling into their new home. The Burundi Drummers have since developed an iconic reputation for their thunderous drumming, colourful traditional costumes and captivating dancing.

Ali Barter


A former triple j unearthed winner, Ali has become a Melbourne Indie rock sensation. Her sound has been described as compelling where the lush sound of guitars layer over her evocative vocals in memorable songs that capture emotions and a new generation of fans. Ali has recently been hand-picked to support Stevie Nicks and The Pretenders on their forthcoming Australian shows.

Footscray Three-O-Double-1

Footscray Three-O-Double-1 project is a music and dance collaboration telling the story of Footscray and its evolution and achievements over time. Includes DJ’ing by Skrybe and choreography by BKode.

Sol Nation

Sol Nation is the product of Melbourne's communal musical scene - at its heart lies the reggae experience of Paulo Almeida (The Dili Allstars), the rock charisma of Colin Badger (Painters and Dockers), and the fiery ardour of soul mama powerhouse Kattimoni. Their music can be described as a melting pot of: Reggae, East Timorese folk song, Cuban Salsa, Latin dance,  Afro-Beat, tropical island rhythm, Brazilian Samba and a whole lot of fun

Public Transport

Public Transport is FREE from 6pm on NYE. Plan your journey with the PTV Journey Planner


Footscray Station is a short 1.5km walk from the event site.


FREE parking is available at the Victoria University car park on Ballarat Road and the Flemington Racecourse Riverbank car park on Fisher Parade.
There is NO public parking in Footscray Park.

Disabled parking

Disabled parking is available in Footscray Park until 8pm.
After 8pm disabled parking is available in the Meyers Road car park, entry via Cumberland Drive only (until full).
