Below you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about the New Year's Eve Fireworks Event.

When is the event?
Sunday 31 December 2023 from 6.00pm to 10.30pm.
What time are the fireworks?
The fireworks commence at 9.30pm.
Where is the event?
Footscray Park's Eastern Lawn (corner of Moore Street and Ballarat Road)
How much does it cost?
This is a free community event for everyone to enjoy!
Can I bring my dog?
This event is for the whole family but for their own safety, please leave your dog at home.

What if there are adverse weather conditions?
Rain, hail or shine the event will go ahead!
However, in the event of dangerous weather conditions (eg high winds, fire bans) the fireworks may not be able to go ahead. Updates will be made available on the night.
Medical help and lost children
If you lose your child, please alert one of our event team, VIC Police or on-site security personnel. We have a designated team who are all trained in lost child procedures and will quickly assist you. St John Ambulance staff will also be on-site for the duration of the event.
Are there ATMs on-site?
No, there are no ATMs available on-site however, some of our food trucks will have EFTPOS facilities.
What should I bring?
Picnic blanket and low fold out chairs are permitted. High chairs or gazebos will be asked to move to the side of the event so that they do not block the view for other attendees. As this is an outdoor event, please be aware of the weather and bring sun protection or appropriate wet weather gear.
What food is available?
There will be over 20 food trucks to choose from on-site.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes, picnics are welcomed. Please note that no BBQs are to be brought into Footscray Park.
Can I bring alcohol?
No. This is a strictly alcohol-free event. Penalties can apply for anyone found consuming alcohol at this event.
How do I get to there?
Footscray Railway Station is only a short walk to the event and there will be FREE public transport from 6pm.
There will also be FREE shuttle buses from Footscray Train Station taking patrons to and from the event.

Is car parking available on-site?
There is no car parking on-site and we encourage all attendees to access the event via public transport.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is available on site up until 9.30pm. To park, please make your way to the event site via Maribynong Boulvard and one of our traffic controllers will assist you.
