Fringe Westside is back with an incredible program of live events happening in Maribyrnong as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival, including the festival’s signature piece for 2023 Swing.

Swing is your chance to fly high above Footscray Train Station on an oversized eight metre swing (or just marvel at the spectacle)! Meanwhile the nearby Nicholson St Mall will host a powerful new pop-up circus show In Common from One Fell Swoop Circus. Both of these playful public art events are free.

A program of three original and thought-provoking shows will be on at the Bluestone Church Arts Space. Māori Martial Arts School Te Ara Hononga will showcase the mesmerising magic of Māori culture, storytelling, music, humour, haka and Mau Rākau (Māori weaponry) with Te Pō: The Mean As Māori Show. Lo-fi experimental theatrical work Someday We'll Find It will explore the complexities of attention, Googling, and how hard it is to write a play, via in a blend of live performance and multimedia. Then there’s a wickedly funny comedy of post-internet truth and AI manipulation that takes an unexpected turn, in The Astonishing Comet Boombox.

Melbourne Fringe shows will also feature at Footscray Community Arts, Kindred Studios and Pride of Our Footscray during October.

You can explore all the events further below and book your tickets now because...Nowhere does Fringe like Melbourne's west!
