Maribyrnong Young Writers' Festival

The Maribyrnong Young Writers' Festival is a celebration of literature to encourage and support young people to write! Running online via Zoom this October 20-22, the festival is an opportunity for emerging young writers to learn from published authors in order to hone their craft. This year’s festival features an author talk with Sofie Laguna, writing workshops with Tristan Bancks and Adrian Beck, and a comics workshop with Renee Treml. Learn more below.

The Festival also launches the annual Maribyrnong Young Writers' Competition for young people aged 6-16. Winning short story and graphic short story entries will win prestigious awards and be published in the 2021 Young Writers' Anthology.
