Have you written a great short story, or think you may have a fantastic idea for one?

The Maribyrnong Young Writers Competition gives you the chance to see your story published in our annual anthology, attend our prestigious awards ceremony and win prizes!

Young writers are invited to enter their short stories or short graphic stories into this year's competition, which is being held in partnership with Maribyrnong Libraries and the Rotary Club of Yarraville.

Entrants need to be between the ages of 6 and 16, be members of Maribyrnong Libraries, able to provide proof of age on request, and submit only one entry.

How to enter

Entries can be submitted via:

  • Library branch - pick up a paper entry form from Maribyrnong Libraries (Footscray, Braybrook, West Footscray, Maribyrnong, Yarraville). The story can be submitted with the entry form to any of our five libraries.
