What facilities can I access with a membership?

Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre (MAC) has a range of membership options available.

Ultimate members can access the gym, group fitness classes, all aquatic areas and a locker.

Off Peak members can access the gym, group fitness classes, all aquatic areas and a locker from 5:45am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6:15pm on Weekends and Public Holidays.

Health Club members can access the gym, group fitness classes and pool (including warm water pool).

Aquatic members can access all the aquatic areas.

Seniors members can access the gym, group fitness classes and all aquatic areas from 7:30am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6:15pm on weekends and public holidays.

Active Teens members can access the gym from 5:45am to 5:30pm and group exercise classes from 5:45am to 6pm Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and public holidays. Pool access is all day.

All new gym members are encouraged to book in for a gym assessment and program show with one of our experienced gym instructors. These sessions are included in the cost of a membership.

Can I suspend my membership?

Yes. All direct debit members can suspend their memberships for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 12 months at one time. A suspension fee of $0.17 per day applies.

All upfront members can suspend their membership once for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 6 months with no charge. Any additional suspensions or time exceeding 6 months is charged at $5 per month.

All suspensions must be requested in writing 3 business days notice from the scheduled direct debit date. When a membership is suspended it is considered to be ‘inactive.’

How do I cancel my membership?

A customer variation form needs to be completed with 3 or more business days notice prior to next scheduled direct debit date at customer service. If the form is completed less than 3 business days prior to the next debit date, the membership will be debited and remain active until the following debit date.

What happens if I lose my membership card?

If you lose your membership card, a replacement card can be purchased at a cost of $11.

Do I have to pay the joining fee?

A joining fee applies to any members joining on our Ultimate, Off Peak, Health Club and Aquatics memberships.

How do I update my direct debit details?

To update direct debit details, please come in to reception and ask a customer service officer for a customer variation form. We accept VISA, Mastercard or bank account details (BSB and Account number) for direct debit payment.

Can I join if I’m under 18?

Included in our membership options is an Active Teen Membership. Teens from 13-15 can join on this membership. There are some minor access limitations applicable which are outlined in the Active Teens membership section of this web site. Anyone 16 or over can sign up on our full membership option and receive a concession discount.

What group fitness classes can I go to?

Members can join in any group fitness class they choose that fits within their membership conditions. We encourage members to have a go at any class that sounds appealing

What will be covered in a membership consultation and should I book?

All prospective members are encouraged to book in for a no obligation membership consultation. During this session, a membership consultant will show you around the facility and outline the centre programs and features. At the conclusion of the tour, membership options will be outlined and you will be able to choose the access option that is most suitable. It is preferred that membership consultations are booked prior to coming into the centre to make sure a staff member is available.

I have been sick can I put my suspension on hold (back date it)?

Generally memberships cannot be suspended retrospectively. In extreme circumstances, and at the discretion of the Member Liaison Officer, membership alterations may be considered as long as appropriate medical certification is provided.

Can I share my membership?

No. Memberships are for the holder only and cannot be shared with friends or family members.

My personal details have changed, how do I update them? Members can update their personal details by notifying customer service staff at reception and filling in a customer variation form.
