Is sweating a good sign your workout was worth it?

“No sweat, no glory.”

“Good things come to those who sweat.”

These are popular mottos among the fitness set. But is there any truth to them? Is sweat really a sign of fitness? Do athletes sweat more?

For many years we've been led to believe that unless you're sweating while exercising you're not working hard enough, but University of Queensland exercise physiologist David Jenkins says this is not necessarily the case.
