Champion Your Change
A grant competition for young people from the City of Maribyrnong

Young people between 15 and 25 are invited to tell us their project ideas to make a positive difference in the community.  The winning project will then received up to $1000 to make their idea a reality!

Guidelines for the Changemaker’s Champion Your Change grant application

  • The project (either an event, project or workshop) must be based at the Phoenix Youth Hub in Footscray and be staged between 15 January and 16 February 2018.
  • The Maribyrnong Youth Advisory Committee will short list five applicants.

  • The five applicants will have to present their idea during the Changemakers Conference held on the 26 September 2017. After presenting the project to the audience, the winner will be decided by the audience at the conference via an anonymous vote.     

  • Maribyrnong Youth Services will auspice the project to the value of $1000. The winning organisers will be required to follow the budget proposed during their application submission and Maribyrnong Youth Services will pay for the expenses.

  • The winner needs to be ready to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Maribyrnong Youth Services.  

Any young person aged between the age of 15 to 25 years who lives, works, studies or recreates in the City of Maribyrnong is eligible to enter.
Eligible projects must demonstrate an intention to improve the lives of young people.

Grant Application
To apply for the Champion Your Change grant,  please describe your proposed project in 500 words and outline the budget for the project (cannot exceed $1000).  In your description, please include the following:

What is the project/event/workshop?

Who will it benefit?

How will you deliver the project?

When will the project be held?

Budget: Please outline a rough budget
