L2P Program (Learn to Drive)

Places for 2020 are now full.  Applications are being considered for 2021.

Learner drivers between the age of 16 and 21 who do not have access to a supervising driver or vehicle, can apply to take part in the TAC L2P Program which assists learner drivers to gain the driving experience required to apply for a probationary licence.

The Department of Transport manages the L2P program which is delivered by Council with program funding provided by the TAC and eligible applicants participate for free.

Young learner drivers are paired with a fully licensed volunteer mentor with access to a vehicle being provided to gain valuable driving experience.

Program eligibility

To be eligible for the program applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be between 16 and 21 years old
  • Hold a current learner permit
  • Have no access to a vehicle or a supervising driver
  • Live in the City of Maribyrnong.

How to apply

Complete the online application form and once you've submitted it we will assess your application and if approved, you will be contacted by a L2P Program Coordinator to arrange an interview.
