Creative West: A new creative heart for Footscray

A new series of free Friday night events will transform the Footscray Library Courtyard over four weeks, showcasing local talent, supporting local businesses and bringing to life the vision for Creative West, a landmark cultural precinct in the heart of Footscray. Creative West Nights will run across four Friday nights from 28 August to 18 September 2026, featuring live music, spoken word, Afro beats and comedy from some of Melbourne's most exciting performers.

Friday 28 August, 6-9pm
Footscray Unplugged featuring Ella Thompson, Grace Robinson and Ruby Gill

Friday 4 September, 6-9pm
Words by Candlelight featuring Wani Toaishara, John Englezos, Fleassy Malay, Konker Malual and Zaynab Farah.

Friday 11 September, 6-9pm 
Afro Beats featuring Sam Manzanza and Jarabi Band.

Friday 18 September 6-9pm
Comedy Roast featuring Geraldine Quinn, William Wang, Oliver Clark and MC Lauren Bok.

Creative West Nights is a free series of events. Bookings are not required.
