Home Library Service
Maribyrnong Libraries offers a free home delivery service to local residents who are housebound or unable to visit the library due to chronic illness, frailty, limited mobility or disability.
The service is also available to full time carers who have limited opportunity to visit a library.
Eligibility
The service is available to all Maribyrnong Residents whether you are in a private home, retirement village, nursing home or residential care. We can also deliver to long term patients at Footscray Hospital.
Residents who are housebound temporarily due to extended illness or restricted mobility may also be eligible for the service.
What can I borrow?
Home Library customers have access to the full collection across all five of the Maribyrnong Libraries branches including:
- Books in standard, large print or e-books
- Talking Books on CD and e-audio downloads
- Music CDs, DVDs and Magazines
- Items in English or any of the Community Language collections.
How does it work?
A Librarian will visit to discuss what you like to read, watch or listen to and will select items for you according to your preferences. Your library items will be delivered to your home on a regular basis.
Contact the library on 9688 0290 to find out more about the Home Library Service or arrange an initial visit.
