Footscray Library will be temporarily closed from Saturday 13 June – Friday 26 June 2026 (inclusive) while we complete a minor refurbishment to improve your library experience.
The closure will allow us to carry out updates to modernise shelving and spaces, and to create a makerspace and digital studio.
During this period, Braybrook, Maribyrnong, West Footscray and Yarraville will remain open as usual. Our book locker at MAC and home library service will also continue operating during the closure. All loans made at Footscray Library will be extended by two weeks to accommodate the closure as the return chutes at Footscray will need to be closed for this period. Library items can be returned to any branch if you wish to return them early.
We encourage customers to visit their nearest branch to borrow and return items, access computers and enjoy our programs and events.
We apologise for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and thank you for your understanding while we make these improvements.
