Reflecting on War : sharing the memories of times past

Our ANZAC centenary tribute continues with an afternoon discussion with local author Sherryl Clark. Her most recent book "Do you dare? Jimmy's war" is set in Yarraville and invloved much research into family WW1 experiences.

Sherryl will share her writing and research tips over afternoon tea.

We are looking for local stories of World War 1. Stories of how the war touched the men, women and children of Maribyrnong.
Perhaps you have your own story to tell, or have researched a local one.

You may have photographs, letters or postcards to share, Bring them along to any library branch to join the centenary commemoration.

Build & Rebuild - Families Transforming Footscray Library's Courtyard

Build & Rebuild

Join Jo Skladzien & Joyce Watts (ArtsBox Artists-in-Residence) for some fun activities for families with an architecture, construction and sustainability theme at the Footscray Library.

Artist Emma Davies created a milk carton igloo in the courtyard and it is a delight!


6.30 - 7.30pm Thursday 16 April
Special night-time Build & Rebuid themed story time in the transformed courtyard. See the Reflective Sticker Wall light up. BYO picnic blankets and torches. For all the family. No bookings required.

10.30am - 4pm Monday 23 March - Wednesday 15 April
Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday drop into the ArtsBox for colouring-in activities, reflective sticker collection, Lego construction play, pop-up story time and milk bottle collection. No Bookings required.
