Nonagenarians Share Purls of Wisdom

Footscray Library recently celebrated the 90th birthdays of two long term Knitting Group members.

Cecelia and Dorothy enjoyed tea and birthday cakes with the friends they have made over the years at the Wednesday afternoon sessions. The close knit and friendly group hail from a number of culturally diverse backgrounds. New members are always welcome, and the Knitting Group love to share their skills and stories with others. Most items the Knitting Group create are sold to raise funds for the ASRC and other charities.

Programs such as Knitting Groups allow library members to come together, providing social connection while learning new skills. This is just one of many examples of the ways that Libraries Change Lives.
