The FReeZA Music Creators workshops are designed to give young people 16 to 25 years old a chance to come and try out a range of Beats Workshops with Melbourne Sound School.

These are small one-off workshops so please register your spot below so you don't miss out!

What we will be doing

Learn hardware production with Akai MPC One and the Roland SP404 to explore club music and hip hop production.

In this workshop, Neil will demonstrate work flow and provide tips and advice on using these machines.

What will we cover

  • An introduction to hardware beat production.
  • Explore club music and hip hop production.
  • Tips and advice on using hardware drum machines.

Meet the Creator

Kuya Neil (he/him) is a heavyweight of Melbourne’s underground hip-hop scene. His fluidity as a producer is evident in his diverse collaborations and projects - soundtracking the left-field representations of rap, contemporary club music and visual art in Australia.

Outside of his music practice, Neil has been involved in grassroots community education since 2018, coordinating and running accessible electronic music programs with Melbourne Sound School.
