Youth Housing Workshop

We want to hear from a diverse range of young people to inform Housing in the City of Maribyrnong!

Snacks provided and participants will go into the draw to win one of two $50 Prezzee vouchers.

What’s This All About?

Maribyrnong City Council is working on a new Housing Strategy – basically a plan for how and where we build homes in the future.

By 2051, we’ll need twice as many homes to keep up with a growing population. That’s a big change – and we want to make sure the way we grow makes our neighbourhoods better, more sustainable, and inclusive for everyone.

We’re kicking things off with a Discussion Paper, and we really want to hear from young people like you!

When: Wednesday 16 July 2025

Time: 4:00 – 5:30pm

What You’ll Be Doing at the Workshop:

• Get a quick intro to the project
• Share your ideas and thoughts on 4 big topics:
• What kinds of homes people need
• The look and feel of our suburbs
• How housing and climate change are connected
• Where new homes should be built

Why It Matters:

Your voice can help shape how Maribyrnong grows over the next 25+ years. Come along, have your say, and enjoy some free food while you're at it!

How to get involved

We are looking for a diverse representative of up to 20 young people aged 15-25 years old who live in Maribyrnong and would like to share ideas on their future housing needs.
