Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Footscray Park.

When is the event?

Wednesday 31 December 2025 from 6pm to 10.30pm.

What time are the fireworks?

The fireworks display will begin at 9.30pm.

Where is the event?

On the Western Lawn at Footscray Park.

How much does it cost?

This is a free community event for everyone to enjoy!

Can I bring my dog?

For the safety and wellbeing of pets, we ask that dogs are left at home.

Fireworks can be very stressful for animals. Visit the RSPCA website for tips on caring for pets during fireworks.

What if there are adverse weather conditions?

The event will proceed rain, hail or shine. However, in the case of dangerous conditions (such as strong winds or fire bans), the fireworks may be cancelled. Updates will be provided on the night.

Where can I go if I need medical assistance?

There will be a designated First Aid Tent on-site, staffed with trained medical personnel to assist with any health concerns or injuries during the event.

What should I do if I get separated from my child?

If you become separated from your child, please go to the Lost Children Tent, located next to the main stage, where our team will assist in reuniting families safely.

Are there ATMs on-site?

No, there are no ATMs available on-site however, our food trucks will accept EFTPOS payments.

What should I bring?

As this is an outdoor event, please bring sun protection, insect repellent, and wet-weather clothing depending on the forecast. Picnic blankets and low fold-out chairs are also welcome.

Please note, high chairs, umbrellas, and gazebos are not permitted as they obstruct views. If brought, they will be relocated to the side of the event area.

What food is available?

There will be over 20 food trucks offering a variety of delicious options for you to enjoy.

Can we bring our own food?

Yes, picnics are welcome. Please note that no BBQs are not permitted within Footscray Park.

Can I bring alcohol?

No, this is a strictly alcohol-free event. Anyone found consuming alcohol may face penalties.

How do I get there?

  • Footscray Railway Station is a short walk from the event.
  • FREE public transport will be available from 6.00pm.
  • FREE shuttle buses will also run between Footscray Station and Ballarat Road from 5.00pm - 11.00pm.

Is car parking available on-site?

There is no car parking on-site. We strongly encourage all attendees to access the event via public transport.

Is there any accessible parking?

Accessible parking is available on site up until 9.30pm. To park, please make your way to the event site via Maribynong Boulvard and one of our traffic controllers will assist you.
