Footscray Flix

Presented in partnership with Sun Theatre Yarraville, Footscray Flix is a retro call back to Footscray’s ghost cinemas.

The central precinct once hosted four cinemas within 500m of each other - La Scala, Trocadero, the Grand, and Barkly Theatres. The last of these cinemas closed in 1987. That’s where our programming begins! Four nights of 80s and 90s popcorn classics with a nod to some memorable films of the West.

Step inside a custom-built boutique 'pop-up' 100 seat cinema that recalls the heady days of event cinema. The days of big budget no holds barred movies watched from comfy seats and red carpeted flooring.

Enjoy drinks from Barbarian Brewing or grab a pre-show bite from nearby Harry+Larry's General Store, Slice Girls West, Conway Fish Trading, or a cheeky cocktail from neighbourhood favourite Back Alley Sally's.

* Double Bill tickets are available and include a free drink at the Footscray Flix Closing Party following Point Break.

Romy and Mira's High Times Reunion will be spinning film-inspired tracks between the screenings and at the Closing Party.

The venue is a small custom-built cinema. Seating is un-allocated. First in best dressed.
