Teacher's breakfast: Supporting LGBTQIA+ young people

The Teacher's breakfast is an annual event hosted by Brimbank and Maribyrnong Youth Services to support capacity building in LGBTQIA+ inclusion across Western metropolitan secondary schools. The provides wellbeing staff, teachers and other school staff from secondary school settings with professional development and networking opportunities to enhance school-wide LGBTQIA+ inclusion. 

The event provides teachers and school staff with the opportunity to:

  • Enhance their knowledge and skills around supporting LGBTQIA+ identifying students within their school.
  • Attend presentations around the theme of Mental Health and LGBTQIA+ safety.
  • Learn and engage with skilled professionals and relevant organisations.
  • Connect with other Teachers and School Staff from schools in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Breakfast, light refreshments and resources to support LGBTQIA+ inclusion are also provided on the day.

Location: Maribyrnong Civic Precinct and Community Hub, 61 Napier Street Footscray
