Join us at the Phoenix Youth Hub to learn the basics of being a barista!

This is a one-day taster course which introduces you to the basics of being a barista. There are no prerequisites for this course. Suitable for all young people looking to work in the vibrant café scene or interested in training in hospitality. This is a non-accredited course.

This course is being delivered by Jesuit Community College, a Registered Training Organisation and Learn Local Organisation.

Learn how to

  • Operate a commercial espresso machine
  • Make a range of coffees
  • Texture milk.

Course outcomes

  • Basic skills in using a commercial espresso machine
  • Greater understanding of what makes a good barista
  • Improved skills and confidence to look for work
  • Pathway to further training.
