Through Isolation Creations we showcased young people who were spending their time getting creative, learning, connecting and trying something new during periods of isolation brought on by lockdowns during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Self Love in Social Isolation

Sami ‘Obama’ Weleda’abgzi is an actor and director, performing in feature films, short films, web series and theatre. Sami hopes to diversify Australia’s artistic landscape, by inspiring the next generation who might not see many culturally diverse actors like him on stage and screen.

Embroidery Workshop

This two part series is presented by artist and writer Sam Stevens (they/them) who often combines disciplines to create tactile embroidered, etched or painted poetry. Sam's work has been exhibited in Brunswick Street Gallery, No Vacancy Gallery and Phoenix Youth Centre to name a few and works have appeared in print in F*EMSZINE.

In this video Sam demonstrates how to transfer a design to fabric, and demonstrate some basic stitching techniques, along with some more advanced stitches for those who want to extend their knowledge.

Lena Lopez is a 23 year old French teacher who has channeled her creative side to help tune out to what’s going on around her and to bring a sense of peace. In these three videos, Lena shows us how to use watercolours to create small and simple prints.

Cooking at Home, Galaktoboureko (also known as Moon Cake)

Julia, a self-confessed terrible cook and challenged herself by whipping up some delicious treats at home. In this video Julia takes us through the process of making the traditional Greek dessert, Galaktoboureko which also known as Moon Cake.
