Maribyrnong is home to several nationally-recognised arts organisations, including those that specialise in arts programs for children and young people, along with Council’s own Phoenix Youth Hub and Libraries youth programming.  Please see the links below to find out more:

Phoenix Youth Centre

Phoenix Youth Centre is the only youth-specific facility in the City of Maribyrnong. It is a place where young people can hang out, get involved in fun activities, run their own events, and access support services should they need it. All programs and services are for young people aged 12 to 25, who live, work, study or play in the City of Maribyrnong.  Check out their exciting art, music and theatre programs for young people.

Maribyrnong Library Services

Maribyrnong Libraries provide a wide range of programs and workshops for young people in the school holiday periods and after school, including knitting club, LEGO club, book club, coding and crafternoons.

Western Edge Youth Arts

Western Edge Youth Arts creates safe spaces for young people to tell their own stories in their own way, often through theatre, film and other performance practices.  They offer industry pathways, schools programs and free weekly community ensemble programs.

Women's Circus

Women’s Circus offers classes each term in tumbling and general circus skills for ages 6 and up at the Drill Hall, Footscray.

Wit Kids

Wit Kids offers weekly drama and musical theatre classes at Braybrook Community Hub and the Maribyrnong Community Centre.

100 Story Building

100 Story Building is a storytelling organisation offering workshops, publishing and other literacy programs, from their story lab in the heart of the Nicholson St Mall.

L2R Dance

L2R Dance offers free hip hop and breakdancing classes at Rec West and other dance programs across Melbourne’s west to strengthen community belonging.

Hyde Street Youth Band

Hyde Street Youth Band provides musical participation opportunities for young people from the age of 6-19 years at Raleigh Road Community Centre.
