Visual and Public Art

The Maribyrnong City Council invests in public art, temporal and permanent, to enliven and enrich public places, foster creative communities, and stage inclusive and progressive public conversations. We also manage a vast Art Collection, which includes over 500 paintings, photographs, crafts, ceramics, sculptures, monuments and works on paper.

Braybrook Community Hub Access Gallery

The Braybrook Community Hub Access Gallery provides local artists and community organisations with a space for exhibitions.

View street art installations across the City of Maribyrnong, commissioned or co-funded as part of our StreetWORKS program.

Summer Road to Saltwater art display

To celebrate the opening of the new Civic Precinct, part of the City of Maribyrnong’s Art and Heritage Collection is on display throughout the recently restored Footscray Town Hall.

Footscray Art Prize

A biennial visual art prize for contemporary artworks across multiple disciplines, open to local and national artists.

HIDDEN Footscray

HIDDEN Footscray is an exhibition uncovering hidden stories of lost heritage, unknown traditional cultural practices, forgotten memories and more.
