Families Week art walk: In Focus Festival

Families are invited to explore In Focus Festival together on a relaxed walking art tour designed for the young and the young at heart.

This guided experience introduces selected festival artworks through conversation and shared discovery, making photography accessible and engaging for all ages.

Presented as part of Families Week 2026, this event celebrates the theme 'Every Family, Everywhere,' recognising the many forms families take and the activities that bring us together. Families Week runs from 11 to 17 May, aligning with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15 May.

Enjoy the outdoors with other local families and see the city through a new lens.

This tour will commence at Footscray Railway Station forecourt and conclude at Footscray Library, where some snacks will be available.

This event is part of In Focus Festival (21 April – 31 May 2026), a new festival that showcases striking photography across the streets, laneways and public spaces of Maribyrnong.

Important Details:

Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
Please dress appropriately for around 45 minutes of walking (ie. comfortable shoes). Bathroom breaks are not scheduled into the tour but Footscray Library will be the final stop where bathrooms are available.

If the weather is unsuitable for a walking tour and outdoor event (e.g thunderstorms), attendees will be advised of alternative arrangements. If there is only light rain or drizzle, the walk will still go ahead. Please bring a raincoat and other appropriate clothing.
