The Last Supper: a yarn with Jody Haines

To mark the closing of the City of Maribyrnong's current exhibition The Art of Observation, hear from contemporary photo-media artist Jody Haines (palawa) for a yarn and afternoon tea.

Set amongst an array of artworks in Footscray Town Hall’s Reception Room, this event will delve into Haines' work, offering alternative perspectives on the landscape and prompts to consider one’s place at the table.

Working at the intersection of memory, body, and Country, and rooted in Indigenous feminist K/new/Known materialism, Haines' PhD dissertation, A Cuppa and a Yarn, became itself a method, a way of working that refuses extraction and centres care, with a framework that insists Indigenous peoples have always understood relationships that matter.

Places are limited so please book early to secure your spot at the table.
