Keeping fit at home during COVID-19

Although our centre may be closed temporarily, it is important to continue to keep fit and healthy. The Victorian Health website has some great information regarding the benefits of exercising including:

  • improved mood
  • better sleep/more energy
  • a healthy immune system
  • reduced risk of serious health issues

With the shortage of home workout equipment in stores, the Victorian Health website as well as Fitness Australia offer some great ways to incorporate weights into your workout by utilising household items. They encourage the use of cans or jars of food, bottles filled with water, liquid laundry bottles, shopping bags filled with heavy items and even stairs within your home.
