MAC Membership FAQ

At MAC we have a range of membership types to suit your needs.

Below you will find some of the frequently asked questions and answers about memberships.

How do I sign up for a MAC membership?

You can sign up for full-rate memberships online via the Online Client Portal or view the membership prices and options.

Concession member are currently not available online as we need to sight and record concession card details at time of sign up.

How much does a membership cost?

We offer a range of membership to suit your needs, here's a snapshot of our membership offering.

To access a concession priced membership you must present a valid concession card at the time of sign up. 

Fortnightly direct debit as per the payment schedule outlined when you sign up for a membership. 

How can I join?

If you're signing up for a full priced membership, you can create an account via the Online Client Portal and join online. 

Alternatively, if you're a concession card holder, or would like to join in person, you can visit us seven days at MAC a week to become a member.

When does my membership start?

When you're joining as a member, either in person or online, you can select a start date for your membership within the next seven days.

Do you have a joining or cancellation fee?

MAC is proud to have no fee to join or cancel your membership.

Can I change to a different type of membership?

Yes – to change membership types please see our Customer Service team to complete a Customer Variation Form. Please note that all changes to membership types will come into effect with the next scheduled direct debit.

Can I freeze/pause my membership?

Yes, you can. All direct debit memberships (excluding Learn to Swim) can be placed on freeze for a minimum period of 2 weeks and a maximum of 12 months.

To freeze a membership, please get in touch with the Customer Service team on macmembership@maribyrnong.vic.gov.au or on 9032 4100. 

Direct debit membership freezes cannot be backdated. To extend a membership freeze, please login to the Online Client Portal. 

How do I pause/freeze my membership?

We get it, sometimes it’s too cold, or your need to take a break from your training. With MAC you can freeze your membership at any time via the Online Client Portal. Alternatively you can email us on macmembership@maribyrnong.vic.gov.au.

To freeze/pause an upfront membership, you must complete a Customer Variation Form at MAC. This process takes about 5-minutes. 

How do I cancel my membership?

Visit us at MAC and complete a cancellation form with our Customer Service team, we generally recommend freezing (pausing) rather than cancelling as this makes it easier to rejoin when you’re ready again.

If you can’t visit us in person please contact us via macmembership@maribyrnong.vic.gov.au for a cancellation form. We cannot process cancellations over the phone.

All cancellations must be received at least three (3) business days before the next scheduled direct debit.

Any outstanding balance must be settled for the membership cancellation to be processed.

Is there a contract/minimum membership period?

No, there’s no minimum period for your membership and you’re free to cancel your contract at any time. Just visit us at MAC so we can process your cancellation.

Is Fitness Passport available?

Yes, Fitness Passport is available at MAC – please visit MAC with your Fitness Passport membership card and our Customer Service Team can assist.

What concession cards do you accept?

We accept the following to access the concession cards:

  • Student card
  • Seniors card
  • Health care card
  • Pension card
  • Carers card
  • Veteran card

What's included in my membership?

You can view all the inclusions in each membership type via our Online Membership portal.
