Maribyrnong Youth... presents our annual Iftar event, break fast, build friendships, and celebrate culture together.

This is a great opportunity for young people aged 12-25years to join us for a welcoming Iftar evening filled with connection, community, and shared stories.

Getting to the venue

Train: We are situated closest to Middle Footscray Station. When you arrive at Middle Footscray station, head Right onto Victoria Street. Turn Left onto Buckley Street. Walk up past two sets of apartment buildings and you’ll see the venue on your left. The total walk is about 500m - 5 minutes.

Bus: There is a bus stop 2 mins walk from the Venue. All 411, 412, 414 and 947 buses stop here. The stop is Bliston St/Buckley St.

Car: There is limited parking available at the venue.

Do I need a parent/legal guardian to accompany me?

This is a fully supervised all-ages event with anyone over 12 years old not requiring a parent or legal guardian to accompany them.

What sort of safety measures are in place at the event?

Maribyrnong City Council is a Child Safe Organisation and works hard to ensure all young people who attend our events feel safe and supported.

Here are some of the ways we ensure attendees safety:

All event workers who are 18+ including Maribyrnong Youth staff, volunteers, security, first aid and contractors are required to have a valid Working With Children Check
All events run by Maribyrnong Youth are alcohol, smoke, vape and drug free with security completing bag checks on arrival and there no pass-outs
A chill-out space in our courtyard will be provided for young people experiencing sensory overload throughout the event
Trained Youth Workers will be present throughout the duration of the event.
