Young Communities Advocate
The Young Communities Advocate position is part of the Maribyrnong Engage! Project.
This role involves developing a project or program that supports the goals of the Maribyrnong Strategy for Children, Young People and their Families 2020-2030. The project will help enhance young people’s wellbeing, development, participation, access to services, and ensure their voices are heard. You will work closely with the Youth Services team at Maribyrnong City Council.

About Maribyrnong Youth Services
The City of Maribyrnong is a culturally, socially, and economically diverse inner-city community. Youth Services at Maribyrnong City Council provide a wide range of programs, activities, and events for young people aged 12 to 25, based at the Phoenix Youth Hub.
Eligibility
Applicants must be 18 to 25 years old and live, work, study, or spend time in the City of Maribyrnong.

What to expect
During the interview, you will have the chance to pitch two youth-focused programs to work on during your time with Maribyrnong Youth Services. These projects can relate to any initiative for young people in the City of Maribyrnong, especially in celebration of the upcoming Victorian Youth Fest.
Successful applicants will receive guidance from the Youth Development Lead to develop and deliver their projects, making a real impact in the community. You will also provide a young person’s perspective to help shape the work of Youth Services, Maribyrnong City Council, and other initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for young people and their communities in Maribyrnong. No prior experience is required.
