About Amplify

The Maribyrnong Amplify Committee is a group of young people aged 16 to 25 years, who come together to plan music and arts events for other young people in the City of Maribyrnong. The group have put on heaps of cool events including all ages gigs at the Phoenix Youth Hub, stage takeovers at the Yarraville Festival and Halloween parties!

What does Amplify do?

By joining the Amplify Committee you will:

  • Get hands on experience in event management, sound production, media and graphic design and public speaking
  • Meet other creative young people into the same stuff as you
  • Get free entry to all events
  • Access free training and build skills relevant to the music and events industry
  • Receive mentoring from musicians, event managers and artists

Who can join Amplify?

  • Anyone aged between 15 to 25 years
  • Live, work, study or socialise in the City of Maribyrnong area (Footscray, Yarraville, Braybrook, Maidstone and surrounds)
  • Be able to attend fortnightly meetings on Wednesdays during school terms from 5.30 to 7:00pm at the Phoenix Youth Hub, 72 Buckley Street, Footscray VIC 3011.

No prior experience or skills are required to join the Amplify Committee. Just an interest in arts, music and events!

Expressions of interest for the 2026 Amplify Committee have now closed. Check back in November to join the 2027 Amplify committee.

The Amplify Committee is an Amplify (formerly known as FReeZa) initiative funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing to provide alcohol, drug, smoke and vape free events for the Maribyrnong youth community.
